Become a Producer
Our goal at EatLocal.Farm is to connect consumers directly with producers of wholesome, organic local food produced in Santa Cruz and the Pajaro Valley. We've selected some of the very best local farms and food producers we know to be a part of our program. Here's how the system works:
Products are listed individually on eatlocal.farm with pricing designated by the producer. The price you list as a producer of goods is the price the buyer pays, and all money transacted for products sold goes straight to the producer, with eatlocal.farm tacking on a small user fee to each order to pay for things like the website, workers at the farmstand pick-up location, consumable supplies, etc.
If you are one of the farmers on our site, we will post a description of your farm on our 'Farms' page with a photo or two plus links to your website, Instagram, facebook, etc. And of course the farmer who grew the crop will always be listed for anything sold on the site.
Orders placed through the website prior to Sunday at 6PM will be harvested and packed for Wednesday/Thursday of each week. On Monday morning the weekly list of all orders from a given producer will be emailed to that producer. The farmer will pack those orders individually and deliver them to the packing location early Wednesday morning. The public will then pick up their orders from the farmstand between 12pm and 3pm that day.
There are really only three key requirements of all producers:
- You sell only what you produce or grow
- You have a track record of growing beautiful, tasty food crops that are highly sought after by the local community
- You can deliver food to drop off/pickup locations in per customer boxes or bags
